Pins of the Week - LFW Edition #8

For this week's edition of my favourite pins of the week I thought I'd add a little theme to it. Seeing as London Fashion Week has just finished I thought I'd include my favourite pins I found that were associated with London Fashion Week 2015. Although there were some amazing catwalk looks at this seasons London Fashion Week, my favourite part to look at is the Street Style Looks. These are the looks that people are spotted wearing to London Fashion Week and these are my favourite looks to gain some wardrobe inspiration from as they are much more achievable and wearable for a day to day look. So here are my favourite Street Style Looks from London Fashion Week 2015.

Beauty: Hourglass Dupe?

Recently Max Factor released their Creme Puff Blush which looks nothing like any other drugstore blush currently on the market! With it's swirled effect it holds it's own place in the drugstore market however, it's resemblance to Hourglass's Ambient Lighting Blush is clear! I'm sure you've seen a few posts comparing the new Max Factor's Creme Puff Blush to Hourglass's Ambient Lighting Blush, but I thought why not give my two cents to this topic too!

Beauty: The Dolce Vita Palette - Make Up Looks

If you have read my Charlotte Tilbury and What I got for Christmas posts then you would have realised just how much I love Charlotte Tilbury's make up range. I first got Charlotte Tilbury's Matte Revolution Lipstick in Amazing Grace for Christmas and since that moment it's been love at first sight! I'd always been lusting after Charlotte Tilbury's Dolce Vita Palette, but due to the hefty price tag I'd always resisted. However, with Selfridges discount at Christmas I decided to finally take the plunge and purchase the Dolce Vita Palette and oh boy am I glad I did and was left wondering what took me so long?!
Charlotte Tilbury Dolce Vita Palette

Overview
I've seen Charlotte Tilbury's Dolce Vita Palette feature a huge amount in blogger wishlists and talked about a lot in blogger twitter chats, however due to the price tag (£38) I think many people are reluctant to buy it. So due to this and my love for this palette I thought I'd do a rather in depth review into the highly lusted after Dolce Vita Palette so you can all decide whether you really do need it or not.

February Wishlist

So another month means another wishlist! I find myself constantly lusting after products throughout the month but when it comes to writing a wishlist I can't seem to think of anything! (Does anyone else have this problem? Think I need to write more lists!) So here is just a select few products that I've been lusting after for the majority of February!
February Wishlist - Mac, Benefit, Topshop, Kate Spade, Nars

1. Mac Eyeshadow Quad - Palette £5 - Eyeshadows £10
I'm seriously lusting after a Mac Eyeshadow Quad so that I can choose 4 eyeshadow shades which will be perfect to take with me on the go. I love my Urban Decay Naked 1 Palette however as it's big I never take it out with me. Due to this I think a Mac Eyeshadow Quad would be the perfect solution, even more so as I can handpick the four shades I want. I've been looking at an endless amount of Mac Eyeshadow swatches and it's safe to say I'm going to have some trouble narrowing my favourites down to only 4 eyeshadows. Some of the shades that I've got my eye on are: Amber Lights, Jest, Mulch, Expensive PinkSoft Brown and Gleam. Would love some recommendations of your favourite Mac Eyeshadows in the comments!!

Favourite pins of the week

1. So my love of coral lips has now transferred to a love of coral nails! I just want it to be Spring/Summer already so that I can rock this simple nail art look. I also love how the nails appear to be matte as well! Does anyone have any recommendations of nail shades similar to this pin?

Valentine's Edit: Valentine's Gifts for Single Girls

So for the last part of my Valentine's edit trilogy was going to be a Valentine's nail tutorial but it wasn't going to plan! ha So instead I thought I would do a post featuring the perfect gifts to treat yourself with if like me your a single girl! You don't need a boyfriend to treat you on Valentine's day do what I'm gonna be doing and treat yourself to a little something instead!

1. Pandora Bracelet/Charms - I always love recieving jewelery as a present and Pandora has such a great range! If you already have a charm bracelet than charms are a great gift to buy yourself. If you don't already have a Pandora charm bracelet than buy yourself one! They really are great as you or your loved ones can add charms to it for different occassions. Pandora also do some  really great stackable rings, I particularly love their birthstone rings!

Valentine's Edit: 3 Ways to Wear Red

For the second part of my Valentine's Edit I thought I'd show you my 3 favourite ways to rock a red lip. In my previous 'Valentines Day Make Up Look' post I opted for more of a pink themed make up look so today I thought I'd show you a different take on a Valentine's day look! I think a red lip is the perfect look for Valentines Day if you want to opt for a simple face of make up but want to pair it with a bold, statement lip! My favourite way to wear a red lip is paired with a flawless, dewy base with a lot of contouring so that the lips are the focus of the look.

So here are my top 3 red lip picks which would be great for Valentine's day or any other day of the year, and all have very different formulas!

3 Ways to Wear Red - Valentine's Day

1. Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Dragon Girl - £18
This product made my cut of my top 10 favourite products of last year and I'm still loving it this year.Dragon Girl is a striking and vivid pillar box red with a matte formula. The fact that it's matte means that it doesn't budge from your lips and stays put for ages. Although it's matte it doesn't dry out the lips, however I do tend to apply a lip scrub, usually Lush's Lip Scrub in Bubblegum, before applying it to get rid of any dryness, which I guess is even more important if you're thinking of wearing it on Valentine's Day!

Valentine's Edit: Make Up Look

This is gonna be the first of my three Valentine's themed posts and this one will feature a make up look that I think would be perfect for Valentine's day. I would warn you though, if your not a big fan of pink then look away now as this look features a lot of pink tones! I mean it's only right, it is Valentine's day after all! Although I'm single (booo!) and am without any Valentine's day plans, (don't pity me I will be at home with my two favourite guys, Ben and Jerrys!) I think this look would be appropriate for a Valentine's date or to just wear on the day in general.

Pins of the Week #4

It's Friday lunchtime, that can only mean one thing... it's time for my favourite pins of the week again! I hope you're enjoying this weekly feature on Simplicity Rose as I'm really enjoying putting it together each week. Makes me feel that my endless scrolling through Pinterest isn't just me procrastinating but is instead for a purpose! So here's my favourite pins from this week!

1. Seeing as it's valentines day soon, I thought I'd start getting into the spirit! I'm thinking of doing a Valentine's day edit on the blog featuring 3 Valentine's day themed posts so was looking for some Valentine's nail inspo. Where better to look than Pinterest?!  I love this Valentine's nail art as it's seems quite simple, enough so that even I may be able of copying it! Keep your eyes peeled to see whether I manage to actually achieve this nail art design!

2. I wish my dressing table was this organised! The next free day I have I would love to get some dividers and sort out my ever growing make up stash! This pin makes me want to do this even more so, as it just looks super organised! I've got some serious dressing table envy going on!

3. After last weeks post where I was trying to rekindle my love for coral lips, this pin has definitely contributed and I've now been wearing a coral lip most days! Although the shade of coral in this pin is quite bright I think it would be such a beaut shade to wear in Spring/Summer and has just got me longing for some sun! Is it just me or does this Winter feel like it's never ending?!

4. If you saw last week's edition of my favourite pins of the week, then you would have seen that I've been lusting after trainers recently and I now think I've found the pair I want. And those trainers have got to be Stan Smiths, I just love them and after scrolling through Pinterest, this love has only become stronger! I just love that they somehow manage to make an outfit casual/smart all at the same time and this pin proves that!

So those are my favourite pins of the week! Are you guys enjoying this weekly feature? Are you following me on Pinterest yet? If not you can do so here

What's in my Bag

As you may have this post will feature the typical what's in my bag post. Sorry if your not interested in posts like this so I'll keep this a short one! This post has been great for letting me put my new love of flat lay's to the test and has allowed me to try it out for myself! So let me know if you like this style of photography on the blog!

What's in my bag

I hate lugging a heavy bag around with me everywhere and so I prefer to just stick with just carrying around the handbag essentials with me in my bag on an everyday basis. To start off with my bag is from Topshop and it was in the sale for £15. It doesn't appear to be online anymore but you may still find it in stores! It's quite a slouchy bag which I love and as it's black it just goes with any outfit! It's also huge so I can fit loads in it!

Review: Real Techniques Bold Metal Collection Flat Contour Brush

I have always been a huge fan of the Real Techniques original line and own two sets of most of the range! Their Buffing Brush, Expert Face Brush and their Eye Starter Set are amongst my all time favourite brushes! I don't even remember what brushes I used before the Real Techniques range existed. So when I first heard about their new luxe Bold Metals Collection I was super excited and knew I needed to purchase one ASAP and after watching Sam and Nic's video on their new brushes, I knew exactly what brush I wanted to purchase. That brush was the Flat Contour Brush (301)

Review: Benefit Roller Lash Mascara

It's safe to say I was rather excited to get my hands on this month's Elle magazine and although I love the magazine itself, I was definitely more excited about the free sample of Benefits new Roller Lash mascara, which hasn't even been released yet! When it comes to mascara I never really splurge and prefer to stick to drug store mascaras as I think they have some great ones on offer! However, I thought I'd give Benefit's Roller Lash mascara a go as I've heard some great things about it!
